architect, designer, and maker

Arwa Ahmed holds a Bachelor's degree from Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture. She is most passionate and interested in the multidisciplinary fields of architectural research, ecosystemic urbanism, material + object exploration, writing + publication, history, landscape, ecology, and the social and political ideologies intersecting with architecture. Throughout her experience, Arwa has grown to be aware and conscious of the politics of architecture- culture, society, social, political, context, history, and practices- that influence and shape design. Being familiar and mindful of the context directly outside the built environment, guides Arwa in establishing and nurturing an open dialogue. Her design process takes the past, present, and future as tools to create a body of work that is always mindful of the natural and built environment, harboring connectivity, harmony, and awareness of people and nature.

As Arwa continues to explore the realm of architecture, she works toward developing her own way of doing architecture, creating work that is present, conscious, and innovative.
