2. bench

Site location: Mies Campus, Chicago.

bench

The concept of the bench arose from yin and yang, opposites yet still complementary forces. Inspired by the idea of conversation and building connectionss, diversity bench was born, not only serving human interaction, but also a link to the natural environment. Planting beds were designed to be nestled at the ends of the bench. Encouraging synergistic interaction, anyone can stop by and pick off plants, sit, or have a chat with one another on the bench.

The bench currently resides on Mies Campus and is still in use.
