vessel
A vessel for water. The vessel is designed for an outdoor setting. The function of the vessel is to collect rain water and carefully rock back and forth. The vessel represents the exploration of dimensional qualities and the boundaries of materiality. The model was structured to be heavier at the bottom and thin toward the top, inspired and designed to achieve a rocking motion. Through an iterative process, the constraints and capabilities of concrete were tested to achieve the structural ratio needed for the vessel to rock back and forth.
The vessel was designed as a sculpture, representing an object in motion when interacting with natural forces- rain and water.
